Crowns, or “caps” are dental devices designed to protect teeth with large fillings or fractured/cracked teeth, improve the appearance of teeth, or make minor modifications to the position of individual teeth.
Several designs exist, ranging from all ceramic crowns to gold or metal- reinforced crowns. Your dentist can help you determine if your smile would be appropriately improved by crowns, or if any of your teeth have fillings too large for the remaining tooth to sustain.
